Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2001 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work The Directors by Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 4,935.00 (€ 2,864.91), 23% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Arezzo Turn-Off II in November 2001 with an auction result of AUD 376,000.00 (€ 218,388.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Directors von Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 4.935,00 (€ 2.864,91) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Arezzo Turn-Off II im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 376.000,00 (€ 218.388,93).
