Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On Thorn Hill Road, Jackson, New Hampshire by Frank Henry Shapleigh was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,073.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Henry Shapleigh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Old Sanchez House, St. Augustine, Florida in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 103,000.00 (€ 65,169.25).
