Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cottage Near Dingle, Co. Kerry by Frank Egginton was sold in the The 10th Anniversary Irish Sale auction at Christies in London in May 2006. The price achieved of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,605.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Egginton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheephaven and Melmore Head, from Horn Head, Co. Donegal, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,819.49).
