Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work Cromane, Dingle Bay, Co. Kerry by Frank Egginton. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,749.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Egginton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheephaven and Melmore Head, from Horn Head, Co. Donegal in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,819.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cromane, Dingle Bay, Co. Kerry von Frank Egginton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.749,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Egginton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sheephaven and Melmore Head, from Horn Head, Co. Donegal im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.819,49).
