Tyrone/11/9/48/Dear Mrs Barnes,/Many thanks for/your letter and cheque/in payment for the two/pictures./I am very glad to/hear that you are pleased/with them, but am sorry/that they were so long in arriving./At the moment we are in our caravan in Co. Mayo,/but will be putting it/away for the winter next/month. The weather has continued very mild and/rainy, but it suits my/painting./With kind regards/yours sincerely/F. Egginton.' This artwork by Frank Egginton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2001. In the THE IRISH SALE auction, the work Sheephaven and Melmore Head, from Horn Head, Co.
