In April 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A Showery Day Near Falcarragh, Co. Donegal by Frank Egginton. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,274.86) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Egginton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheephaven and Melmore Head, from Horn Head, Co. Donegal in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,819.49).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Showery Day Near Falcarragh, Co. Donegal von Frank Egginton zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.274,86) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Egginton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sheephaven and Melmore Head, from Horn Head, Co. Donegal im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.819,49).
