Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Awning I by Frank Auerbach was sold in the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in June last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 504,000.00 (€ 585,504.63). Admittedly, works by Frank Auerbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Awning I von Frank Auerbach wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 504.000,00 (€ 585.504,63) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
