Auction result misses estimated price range
In June last year a collector was able to acquire the work Reclining Model, Back View by Frank Auerbach for GBP 579,600.00 (€ 673,330.33). This price was achieved in the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600,000.00 – 800,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Frank Auerbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Reclining Model, Back View von Frank Auerbach für GBP 579.600,00 (€ 673.330,33) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
