Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Head of Catherine Lampert by Frank Auerbach was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in London in June last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 650,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 655,500.00 (€ 761,504.54). Admittedly, works by Frank Auerbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Head of Catherine Lampert von Frank Auerbach wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 650.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 655.500,00 (€ 761.504,54) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
