In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II, which included the work Portrait Of Comtesse De Clermont-Tonnerre by François Meuret. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,215.18), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by François Meuret - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Robert Arthur De Acres, Marquis De L'Aigle (1843-1931), which sold at auction in May 2020 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,182.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Comtesse De Clermont-Tonnerre von François Meuret zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.215,18) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von François Meuret mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Robert Arthur De Acres, Marquis De L'Aigle (1843-1931) beobachtet, die im Mai 2020 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.182,56) versteigert wurde.
