This artwork by Francis Upritchard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2020. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Travellers Collection sold for GBP 9,450.00 (€ 10,549.39) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francis Upritchard; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Misanthrope sold at auction in June 2018 with the realized price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,952.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Upritchard erzielte im November 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Travellers Collection für GBP 9.450,00 (€ 10.549,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 4.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Francis Upritchard; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Misanthrope im Juni 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.952,56).
