Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Beat by Francis Upritchard was auctioned at Phillips in 17 - in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,350.00 (€ 5,762.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Upritchard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Misanthrope, which sold at auction in June 2018 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,952.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Beat von Francis Upritchard im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 17 - versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.350,00 (€ 5.762,25) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Upritchard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Misanthrope beobachtet, die im Juni 2018 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.952,56) versteigert wurde.
