A top price for Francis Upritchard - as previously expected
In June 2018 Christies in London held the auction Handpicked: 50 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery, which included the work The Misanthrope by Francis Upritchard. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,952.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Misanthrope is the most expensive artwork by Francis Upritchard that we have observed at auctions so far.
