Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Francis Towne achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2018. In the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction, the work Charles Church, Plymouth sold for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,810.67) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Towne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lake Of Albano, Morning Sun Rising Over Rocca Del Papa in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 289,250.00 (€ 347,790.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
