Upper estimate price exceeded by 31 %.
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Upper Egypt and Ethiopia by Francis Frith. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,629.00 (€ 4,117.05), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Frith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Egypt, Palestine & Nubia in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 46,616.44).
