Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'The Pyramids Of Sakkarah, From The North East' by Francis Frith was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,678.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Frith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Egypt, Palestine & Nubia, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 31,070.00 (€ 46,616.44).
