Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Francis Coates Jones achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Springtime sold for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,364.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Coates Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fishing Along The River Bank in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 116,323.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Coates Jones erzielte im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Springtime für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.364,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Coates Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fishing Along The River Bank im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 181.000,00 (€ 116.323,91).
