Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Afternoon Idle by Francis Coates Jones for USD 2,268.00 (€ 1,963.30). This price was achieved in the auction The European Art Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Coates Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fishing Along The River Bank in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 116,323.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Afternoon Idle von Francis Coates Jones für USD 2.268,00 (€ 1.963,30) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The European Art Sale bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Coates Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fishing Along The River Bank im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 181.000,00 (€ 116.323,91).
