Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Deuxième version du triptyque 1944 (after, Second Version of the Triptych, 1944) (S. 24, T. 25) by Francis Bacon was auctioned at Phillips in London in January this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 20,160.00 (€ 22,881.92). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bacon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Studies Of Lucian Freud in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 142,405,000.00 (€ 104,663,383.80).
