Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Francis Augustus Silva could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Late Afternoon changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,024.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Augustus Silva achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunrise At Tappan Zee in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,658,500.00 (€ 1,909,979.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Augustus Silva konnte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Late Afternoon für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.024,04) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Augustus Silva erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunrise At Tappan Zee im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.658.500,00 (€ 1.909.979,17).
