In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Evening On The Coast by Francis Augustus Silva. The »bidding war« ended at USD 150,000.00 (€ 136,005.08), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Augustus Silva achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunrise At Tappan Zee in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,658,500.00 (€ 1,909,979.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Evening On The Coast von Francis Augustus Silva zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 136.005,08) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Augustus Silva erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunrise At Tappan Zee im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.658.500,00 (€ 1.909.979,17).
