Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Midsummer Twilight by Francis Augustus Silva was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. The price achieved of USD 400,000.00 (€ 356,157.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Augustus Silva have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunrise At Tappan Zee in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,658,500.00 (€ 1,909,979.17).

Die Arbeit A Midsummer Twilight von Francis Augustus Silva wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 400.000,00 (€ 356.157,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Augustus Silva auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunrise At Tappan Zee im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.658.500,00 (€ 1.909.979,17).
