This work of art by Francis Augustus Silva could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Highlands On The Hudson, Looking South From Newburgh, N.Y. changed hands for USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,187.26) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Augustus Silva achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunrise At Tappan Zee in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,658,500.00 (€ 1,909,979.17).
