Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Christies in Paris held the auction Photographies, which included the work Lucy with Goose, 1977 by Francesca Woodman. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 62,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesca Woodman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Polka Dots, which sold at auction in October 2019 for USD 200,000.00 (€ 179,291.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Photographies durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lucy with Goose, 1977 von Francesca Woodman zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 62.500,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesca Woodman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Polka Dots beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für USD 200.000,00 (€ 179.291,80) versteigert wurde.
