Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sherihane, Cairo by Fouad Elkoury was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in November 2008. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,289.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fouad Elkoury - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lebanese sherihan (From The Egyptian Cinema Series), which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 18,750.00 (€ 15,758.95).

Die Arbeit Sherihane, Cairo von Fouad Elkoury wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.289,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Fouad Elkoury mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lebanese sherihan (From The Egyptian Cinema Series) beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 18.750,00 (€ 15.758,95) versteigert wurde.
