In June 2020 Sothebys in Dubai held the auction This Too Shall Pass, which included the work Cheval Et Pyramide by Fouad Elkoury. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,451.96), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fouad Elkoury - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lebanese sherihan (From The Egyptian Cinema Series), which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 18,750.00 (€ 15,758.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in Dubai die Auktion This Too Shall Pass durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cheval Et Pyramide von Fouad Elkoury zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.451,96) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Fouad Elkoury mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lebanese sherihan (From The Egyptian Cinema Series) beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 18.750,00 (€ 15.758,95) versteigert wurde.
