Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Special Day by Foster Sakyiamah was worth USD 40,320.00 (€ 41,214.35) to a buyer in September last year. This price was achieved in the auction New Now at Phillips in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Foster Sakyiamah; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Red Girls Synced sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of GBP 44,100.00 (€ 52,285.51).
