This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Fortunino Matania have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 11,760.00 (€ 17,429.06).
