In October 2014 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A Scottish regiment in the village of Loos rescuing a little French maiden (illustrated); The returned soldier as munition worker; and The piercing of the German fortified defensive line on the Somme: Cleaning out a dug-out for 800 men after the adva by Fortunino Matania. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,553.71), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fortunino Matania have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 11,760.00 (€ 17,429.06).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.553,71) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fortunino Matania auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.760,00 (€ 17.429,06).
