This artwork by Fortunino Matania achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2014. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work A British raid on the German lines through clouds of poison gas sold for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,915.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Admittedly, works by Fortunino Matania have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 11,760.00 (€ 17,429.06).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fortunino Matania auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.760,00 (€ 17.429,06).
