Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2014 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work H.R.H. King George V, Queen Mary and Princess Mary in the Royal Barge at Henley Royal Regatta, 12 July 1912 (illustrated); and The King and Queen receive a floral welcome from the medieval London pageant, 1911 by Fortunino Matania. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 812.50 (€ 1,037.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fortunino Matania achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 11,760.00 (€ 17,429.06).
King George V, Queen Mary and Princess Mary in the Royal Barge at Henley Royal Regatta, 12 July 1912 (illustrated); and The King and Queen receive a floral welcome from the medieval London pageant, 1911 von Fortunino Matania zur Versteigerung kam.
