Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Painting 73 by Fong Chung-Ray was sold in the Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. The price achieved of HKD 94,500.00 (€ 10,117.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fong Chung-Ray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work PAINTING 1984 - 26 in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,639.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Painting 73 von Fong Chung-Ray wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 94.500,00 (€ 10.117,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fong Chung-Ray auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit PAINTING 1984 - 26 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.639,91).
