This artwork by Fong Chung-Ray achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in October 2019. In the Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Painting 08-12 sold for HKD 259,600.00 (€ 29,671.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 140,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fong Chung-Ray - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work PAINTING 1984 - 26, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,639.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fong Chung-Ray erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei POLY einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Painting 08-12 für HKD 259.600,00 (€ 29.671,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 140.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fong Chung-Ray mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit PAINTING 1984 - 26 beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.639,91) versteigert wurde.
