Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 97-24 by Fong Chung-Ray was sold in the Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 93,750.00 (€ 10,271.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Fong Chung-Ray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work PAINTING 1984 - 26 in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,639.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 97-24 von Fong Chung-Ray wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 93.750,00 (€ 10.271,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fong Chung-Ray auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit PAINTING 1984 - 26 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.639,91).
