It achieved a price of USD 111,750.00 (€ 86,040.96), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ferdinand Richardt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Niagara Falls, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 288,000.00 (€ 214,078.64).

Die Arbeit Niagara Falls von Ferdinand Richardt kam im Mai 2013 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 111.750,00 (€ 86.040,96) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Für andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Richardt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Niagara Falls beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 288.000,00 (€ 214.078,64) versteigert wurde.
