Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction, which included the work Sentinel Rock with Hutchings Hotel, Yosemite Valley by Ferdinand Richardt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 16,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,575.00 (€ 10,796.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ferdinand Richardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Niagara Falls in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 288,000.00 (€ 214,078.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sentinel Rock with Hutchings Hotel, Yosemite Valley von Ferdinand Richardt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 16.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.575,00 (€ 10.796,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Richardt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View of Niagara Falls im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 288.000,00 (€ 214.078,64).
