In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Felrath Hines. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,837.50 (€ 10,498.40), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Felrath Hines have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May last year with an auction result of USD 53,295.00 (€ 49,664.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Felrath Hines zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.837,50 (€ 10.498,40) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Felrath Hines auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 53.295,00 (€ 49.664,52).
