In May 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work The Flower by Felipe Castañeda. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,549.12) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Felipe Castañeda have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maternity in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,483.29).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Flower von Felipe Castañeda zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.549,12) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Felipe Castañeda auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maternity im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.483,29).
