Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Bonhams in New York held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Still life with red and white currants by Fedor Petrovich Tolstoi. The price achieved of GBP 5,120.00 (€ 5,120.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fedor Petrovich Tolstoi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Countrussian Goosberrries, 1818 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 44,200.00 (€ 28,391.57).
