Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Shore At Galata, Constantinople by Fausto Zonaro was sold in the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in December 2014. The price achieved of GBP 86,500.00 (€ 111,354.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fausto Zonaro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian bayram (The Celebration) in April 2015 with an auction result of GBP 941,000.00 (€ 1,292,210.00).

Die Arbeit The Shore At Galata, Constantinople von Fausto Zonaro wurde im Dezember 2014 in der Auktion 19th Century European & Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 86.500,00 (€ 111.354,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fausto Zonaro erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Italian bayram (The Celebration) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 941.000,00 (€ 1.292.210,00).
