Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work La spiaggia a Foce, Genova by Fausto Zonaro was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 2,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at GBP 13,387.50 (€ 15,230.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fausto Zonaro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian bayram (The Celebration) in April 2015 with an auction result of GBP 941,000.00 (€ 1,292,210.00).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit La spiaggia a Foce, Genova von Fausto Zonaro im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 2.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 13.387,50 (€ 15.230,87) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fausto Zonaro erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Italian bayram (The Celebration) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 941.000,00 (€ 1.292.210,00).
