The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,303.96), 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fang Yi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dragon in the Cloud, which sold at auction in November 2019 for HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,423.50).

Die Arbeit Dragon, 1943 von Fang Yi wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy III bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.303,96) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Fang Yi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dragon in the Cloud beobachtet, die im November 2019 für HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.423,50) versteigert wurde.
