Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Déjà vu Still-Life by Evelyn Hofer for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,219.44). This price was achieved in the auction The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Evelyn Hofer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected Images in May 2016 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,942.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Déjà vu Still-Life von Evelyn Hofer für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.219,44) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Evelyn Hofer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected Images im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 17.942,30).
