Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2, which included the work Little Italy, Mulberry Street, New York by Evelyn Hofer. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,589.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Evelyn Hofer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected Images, which sold at auction in May 2016 for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,942.30).
