Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Wonder Bread, Dorchester, Massachusetts, 1975 by Eugene Richards for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,395.21). This price was achieved in the auction The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Eugene Richards have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grandmother, Brooklyn, New York in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,657.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Wonder Bread, Dorchester, Massachusetts, 1975 von Eugene Richards für USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.395,21) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eugene Richards auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grandmother, Brooklyn, New York im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.657,11).
