In March 2009 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Pointers flushing out the quarry by Eugène Petit. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,717.78), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eugène Petit - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The chase; and Stalking the prey, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 7,050.00 (€ 12,069.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im März 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pointers flushing out the quarry von Eugène Petit zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.717,78) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Eugène Petit mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The chase; and Stalking the prey beobachtet, die im April 2000 für GBP 7.050,00 (€ 12.069,31) versteigert wurde.
