The work Seagull by Esphyr Slobodkina was sold in the American Art Online auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2019. It achieved a price of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,600.18), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Admittedly, works by Esphyr Slobodkina have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Toys in the Attic in July last year with an auction result of USD 69,300.00 (€ 67,927.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Seagull von Esphyr Slobodkina wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion American Art Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.600,18) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Esphyr Slobodkina auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Toys in the Attic im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 67.927,86).
