Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Temple Of Karnak by Ernst Karl Eugen Koerner was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 40,261.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernst Karl Eugen Koerner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View Across the Golden Horn, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque beyond, Constantinople, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 149,000.00 (€ 134,939.32).
