Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Istanbul, Valide And The Suleymaniye Mosque by Ernst Karl Eugen Koerner was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,387.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernst Karl Eugen Koerner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View Across the Golden Horn, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque beyond, Constantinople, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 149,000.00 (€ 134,939.32).

Die Arbeit Istanbul, Valide And The Suleymaniye Mosque von Ernst Karl Eugen Koerner kam im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.387,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
