The price achieved of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 59,892.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernst Karl Eugen Koerner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View Across the Golden Horn, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque beyond, Constantinople, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 149,000.00 (€ 134,939.32).
